The Road Line Plan (RLP) of a development is a layout plan in drawing that shows the Road Reserve Line, Tunnel Reserve Line, Land Parcel Lot Number, Road Category and land required as Road Reserve.

When a land parcel is being developed or redeveloped, the land required as Road Reserve has to be surrendered to the State for future road use.

The RLP is purchased from the Land Transport Authority. Together with a Land Surveyor, the QP will have to verify the details of the reserve lines on site.

A Registered Inspector (RI) is a neutral person, who is appointed by the building owner, to inspect the fire safety components of the development before the Qualified Person applies for the Temporary Fire Permit or Fire Safety Certificate from the SCDF.

There are two types of RI – RI (Architectural) and RI (Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)). The type of RI to engage will depend on the types of new fire safety works carried out. Both types of RIs may be needed for the inspection in some situations.

The RIs are registered with the SCDF in accordance to the Fire Safety Act and the Fire Safety (Registered Inspectors) Regulations. The RI directory is found on the SCDF website.
