Breeching inlets or commonly abbreviated as BI on drawings are installed outside the building or any easily accessible area in the building facade for fire brigade personnel to access from the fire engine access road.
This inlet is used by the fire brigade personnel to connect a hose from the fire engine to the breeching inlet to supply water to the upper floors of the building for fire fighting.
