Mechanical ventilation, abbreviated as M/V on drawings, is the intentional movement of air by means of mechanical system, such as supply fans and exhaust fans. Air-conditioning units, that do not have fresh air intake functions, are not considered mechanical ventilation devices.
A space within the building is usually mechanical ventilated when it cannot be ventilated naturally.
