One of the firefighting systems in multi-storey buildings for firefighters to obtain water supply on the upper storeys.
According to the SCDF Fire Code, buildings with habitable height between 10 metres and 60 metres shall be installed with the dry rising mains, while those exceeding 60 metres shall be installed with the wet rising mains. Wet rising main systems are fitted with water storage tanks and fire pumps.
The water discharge point of the rising mains is known as a landing valve, while water is supplied into the rising mains through a breeching inlet.
